Let me just preface by saying I do love food and trying something different and having different things for dinner all the time.
THis is my second time with GD and I felt i was getting the hang of it...until I got a stomach bug and can no longer handle dairy. I am hoping this will go away in the next few weeks, and am taking probiotics to try to get my GI back in control...but I just feel now I don't know what to eat! I know I am focusing on what I can't eat and not thinking about what I can, but it's hard when I can't eat lunch meat, fish, all dairy items, anything sugary or carby, rice, most bread, etc etc. So i have meat, veggies, peanut butter, other nuts, eggs, and some limited fruits. Sigh. If only I could drink some real wine that would make it better. ;-)
Re: Just a whiny vent about GD and lack of food!
Ditto the pp - what's wrong with fish? Or lunch meat, for that matter? If the lunch meat thing is because of the listeria hysteria, remember that TONS of food can carry listeria, and we never know what they might be. Remember the cantaloupe mess a few years ago? I know it's high sodium, but with GD, it's been one of the tastier things that works for me for lunches. The two OBs I've seen have both said it's absolutely fine. If you're super paranoid, get it toasted.
Ditto about the wine, though. I WANT WINE. It would make GD so much more enjoyable if I could be tipsy.

All fish? BC if so, that is kinda silly- fish has various things in it that are super good for you and baby. Now, there are certain KINDS of fish you're supposed to avoid bc of mercury levels...they are listed on the APA website, and so are the benefits of eating fish while pregnant.
The lunchmeat thing- that's a personal choice, but even so, it is safe if heated.
