New (and a little freaked out)

I'm new here (duh) and I just found out I'm pregnant yesterday.  I haven't even told my husband yet.  Don't get me wrong, this is a good thing and was planned although it took a lot less time than I was expecting.  I'm just trying to process everything and it's a lot to process.

No one knows we were even thinking about kids and I'm a very private person, so I don't really know who to talk to.  Apparently, strangers on the internet seemed like a good idea.  I'm just feeling overwhelmed.  I'll probably tell Hubby tonight, I just didn't want to blurt out "I'm pregnant" with a deer-in-the-headlights look, which is kind of how I'm feeling.

Can someone just tell me it will be great? (Even if it is a total lie)

    It will be great, and that's not a lie. Your feelings are totally normal. Enjoy telling your hubby tonight.  Congratulations!

    Children are wonderful and hard all at the same time!  Its not unusual to feel the way you do!  I felt the exact same way as you we had decided to have a baby and i knew that within a year i would be pregnant and we would have a baby in about 18 months or so!  Right??? Wrong!  We were pregnant before the next period and though we planned it i thought I am so not ready for this!  It freaked me out a little I thought i would have a little more time!  The second one I thought for sure it would take more than a month??  Nope again 30 days now I am on the third kid bandwagon and preggers again after 30 days of trying so here I am just like you felt and now have a third kid on the way!!!! YIKES!!  No but seriously it will be ok talk to your husband about your apprehension and tell him you were not expecting it that fast!  trust me it will be ok!!!!  Best of luck!!!!

    I had the best pregnancy with DD. I actually felt the most confident in my appearance than I ever had in my life. (And I'm not just making this up to make you feel good!) It is the coolest thing in the world to be pregnant. To feel that baby move inside of you is like no other feeling. And then when you finally get to hold your baby for the first time....words can't describe it. It's the best feeling in the world to be a parent!! And I'm sure you'll find joy in it too!

    It's nice to hear, so thank you all.  I know I'm being a little ridiculous, it's just a huge change.  Hubby has always wanted kids, so I'm expecting him to be very excited.  Man, our parents are going to freak out when we tell them!

    It will be awesome!  I will admit I am a little freaked out and this was planned and #2!  I just expected it to take longer than a month since it took 7-8 months last time!

    I'm in a very similar position to you, except I have been processing this since Leap Day, and since, I have told my hubby.  It's going to be fine, in fact, it's going to be awesome!  He might be a little freaked out at first (only because he's human!) but after he has a few days to think about it, he will be totally ecstatic!!!  After I had a bout a week to process it with him, I was dying to tell someone that might understand.  So, even though I knew I don't want to spread to word too much (yet) I told my mom.  Besides your hubby, who will really understand you better than someone who has been through it as well as someone who will be just as elated as your hubby!!!!  Smile
