Painful lower-abdomen baby kicks?

Has anyone else experienced painful baby kicks in the lower abdomen?  Up until now the kicks were cute and I looked forward to them.  Tonight, however, my little one has delivered several painful blows to my lower abdomen.  I was expecting painful rib kicks (which thankfully I have not yet gotten), but not these.  Anyone else?

  • I am at the point where every.single.movement he makes is intense and painful. Especially down by my pelvis. Dr. told me it could be because I am all baby and have no extra fat on my belly to absorb the blows. Ugh.

  • Ugh, yes. Even some of his twists and turns have been painful lately. It's going to be a looong 10 weeks!

  • Oh yes! DD is positioned very strangely (breech and facing down) so her kicks and punches are aimed at fun areas like my bladder and cervix.

  • Yes I have been experiencing it for a while.  Lately it's become more intense, and I don't think they are just kicks.  I read somewhere that they can be braxton hicks.  Not sure, but they come and go all of the time.

  • Mine are definitely in the right rib cage. I'd like to think I'd rather have it in my lower abdomen because it is super painful when your rib cage won't go down all the way cause there is a foot lodged, but I'm thinking it's all painful at this point. I also don't have much room for LO either, was always on the skinnier side.
