I guess since I'm not a coffee drinker I thought that I can get the caffeine from a can of coke to give me a little energy boost since im so tired these days.
From a caffeine perspective, yes. But soda is nothing but empty calories, so I am limiting myself to one a week.
Agreed. I treat myself to a regular soda or a caffeine free soda when we go out. We don't go out often as a way to save money so I don't do it a lot. I do make sure if I have soda, I follow it up with water as soon as I can.

I'm drinking ginger ale as a treat but not caffeinated soda. I know I can, but since I didn't have caffeine all through IVF, I don't really care about it as much now.

All of this.
Plus, ginger ale is great for nausea.

There's less caffeine in soda than coffee, so from that perspective, it's fine to drink.
That's my stance. I need a little caffeine and I've never liked coffee, so I usually have a soda in the morning. I usually stick to water/juice after that though, just because I feel better if I only drink the one.

Soda isn't good not pregnant, but I will admit....it's my source of caffeine with my crazy schedule. I limit to one per day and sometimes I don't even do that.
I have one sprite a day or everyother day. It helps settle my stomach. Before I got pregnant I actually stopped drinking soda for over a year and I feel bad for giving in but it really does help more than anything.
If you're really craving a pop look for a brand called Blue Sky (whole foods, health foods store, or in some "natural" aisles at a regular grocery store). They have all different flavors w/ no caffine or hfcs.
I still drink Diet Coke in moderation. My Dr said it was fine last time around. She is definitely of the "don't freak out over the little things" mindset

The pregnancy education nurse told me that one or even two soda's a day is fine. They gave me a limit of 200 mg of caffeine. Artificial sweeteners are ok in moderation, with the exception of sweet n low.
I have found that Diet Rite has no Caleries, no Carbs, caffine and no sodium. They are actually pretty good and they have a couple varities. The orange is pretty good too and it helps with a sweet craving! Hope that this helps!
I had previously given up soda, but lately, with the nausea and fatigue, sometimes a regular coke in the afternoon is just what I need to get me through.

As a caffeine sub, yes. I've been trying not to though, except for my necessary ginger ale lol.
