I think baby fever has finally run it's course...

Only to be replaced by something else.  New home fever.  Dammit.  And we're thinking not for another four years, but I definitely want to be settled in somewhere for the long haul before Stella starts kindergarten because I want her to stay in the same school system throughout.  And if we stay where we are, that means private schools.

So now...I spend every night looking at realtor web sites as well as floor plans on home builder sites (while House Hunters is on the background).

  • DH is right there with ya! I'm feeling a little more patient though.
  • Loading the player...
  • This is exactly what my DH is doing and then he tries to draws me in with his house hunting.  We actually spent yesterday looking at houses, lol.  I would like to settle in a home before Brie starts school as well, right now we are in the country so we have no neighbors and therefor no neighbor children for Brie to grow/play with.

  • I hear ya!  I spend just as much time on realtor.com as I do on TB.  We rent my sister's house.  While it is nice knowing my landlord, and she is giving us a really great deal, and pretty much lets us do whatever we want with the place, I am so eager to buy our home.

DH was very anxious to buy before Vito was born, but now he is willing to put it off for a couple years. I am not that patient.  Really I want to decorate and remodel and while my sister wouldn't mind what we do, I hate to waste the money on her house if we aren't staying here for long.

  • We live in town, but I hate our neighbhorhood and what it's becoming.  I grew up in the country, but don't want that for Stella...while I grew up in the country, the road we lived on had a speed limit of 50 mph.  How my parents let us ride our bikes up and down the road (we had friends about a mile down the road) was beyond me!  Right now, our plan is a newer subdivision and have a home built so it is built to what we want, not buying someone else's home and wanting to change everything about it.

The bolded is the story of my life!

I am in the same boat as you except we are selling our house and moving. However, we don't know exactly where to. We agreed that we are moving from Wisconsin to Arizona, so as soon as the kids go to bed I am surfing the web to get as much information as possible!

Arizona was our goal four years ago...unfortunately that didn't pan out (and good thing it didn't since the economy tanked shortly after that).  I still eventually want AZ though.

  • Mmmm house porn. That is what I spend my nights (and lets be serious, days too) doing. I want a house! Well a new house, not the house I already have.

The housing in AZ is so cheap right now! Thankfully DH has a very versitile job so he can work basically anywhere, otherwise we wouldn't be able to move there until the ecomomy came back up.

  • I am having new home fever too Embarrassed  I know it's a few years before we will be able to afford to move and pay for 2 mortgages if necessary but I am still constantly looking online at houses and dreaming.

Now if only I could convince DH to move further south to get away from horrible Chicago winters.

  • Add me to the list.  Unfortunately its not going to happen, sad part is i just want to move two miles away.  Love the area we are in but there is a new development down the road and i swoon every time i see the signs.

  • Join the club.  I got excited a few months ago when they broke ground on a new subdivision only to later find out that the area was rezoned out of our school district.  There is absolutely no way I am moving out of my shcool district and there is no way for us to find an extra 100k to be able to purchase a new home the same size of our current one in our school district.

So if anyone on here has 100k or so they wanna give me I willl put it to good use Big Smile

  • Add me to the list of wanting a new house. I like our neighborhood but we need a bigger house and yard. Dh wants a barn to keep his tools in. I also still thinknid like another baby and think I might like to stay home. Can't have it all though and our house is worth less than we owe so were stuck.

  • we've been looking for a new home for 6 months now :( things are so dang expensive where i live at the moment. everything we like is just outside what we want to pay. I mean i feel lucky the we dodged the GFC but man it would have been nice for house prices to drop below $400,000 just for a little bit!
