in 1st Trimester

I had a little brown spotting today and so I called my Dr. and she told me to come in. I did some bloodwork and had a vaginal ultrasound. They saw the gestational and yolk sac, but said I'm too early to have a heartbeat (going back in a week to try again). Has this happened to anyone? I'm so worried - I know lots of ladies hear the heartbeat at 6 weeks so it's hard not to be worried.

    I wasnt able to hear a heartbeat at my 7 week appt. i have an appt this friday and i will be 12 weeks. Dont worry too much because causes problems and stressful to baby. good luck

    I started spotting at around 5 weeks.  I thought for sure I was miscarrying (I actually had a gush of red blood, followed by brown spotting for the next 3-4 weeks).  I went in for an u/s and they only saw a yolk sac.  They had me follow up the following week at 6 weeks and found the baby!  They said even at 6 weeks it may be hard to see, especially if the dating is wrong by even a few days.  

     GL! Hope it's no big deal and you'll see your LO soon!

    I had a tiny bit of bleeding around 6 weeks and 5 days. Hubby and I went to the doctor immediately and we both were super worried. They did an US and we saw the baby and saw the heartbeat! The doctor said everything looked normal, the baby was the right size, with a good heartbeat, and in the right spot etc. He never gave me an explanation of why I was bleeding and I'm still a little on edge, but I was happy to see the baby and many people have told me they had some bleeding and everything turned out fine. Hoping thats the case and everything is A OK! Wishing you a happy and healthy 9 months!

    Spotting is actually pretty common and I think those who hear the heartbeat at 6weeks are in the minority, not the majority. So try to stay calm and positive, you will most likely go in and find that everything is perfect!
