Pastina - how do you serve it and how much?

I used 2 tbs of dry pastina like the instructions said. That yielded a LOT cooked. I mixed it with some carrot puree, but DD refused to eat it after a few bites. So, how do you serve it and how much do you usually give?

    I usually mix it in with a jar of turkey or chicken baby food.  The other thing mine like is if I put some garlic and olive oil on it
