Newborn question....

My DS sleeps all day long! I know he is only 2 weeks old so that is what they are suppose to do. I told the pedi that I try to keep him awake periodically through the day so that he will sleep good at night but he said that I dont need to do that. Do you just let your newborn sleep all day?

Um... yes. Let the baby be. He will sleep all day and sleep all night. Listen to the DOCTOR!

yes hes 2 weeks old. he's not going to do much more than sleep. he'll gradually start staying awake longer. do not try to keep a baby awake for no reason, you will end up with a super tired super crabby baby and then it's harder to get them to sleep.

As strange as it sounds - the more they sleep during the day the better they sleep at night. If you try to keep them up they get cranky and overtired and babies that are overtired actually dont' sleep very well.

And...your LO is only 2 weeks old!
