I have wanted a Kate Spade baby bag, but didn't want to drop $400 on it...but saw today they were having a sample sale on line and they are about $150....just an FYI!
Im not gonna lie... I could never fathom paying that much for a diaper bag!!!
My MIL found one that I love, it fits my personality and everything and she got it for $7.50! Its just the right size, has the needed organization and everything. Yes, it looks like a typical diaper bag and not a purse... but geez... My H wants a backpack type diaper bag, and we have decided not to spend more than around $40-$50 on it... tip top...

I personally don't see much point in an actual "diaper bag". I never liked the looks of them, so with my daughter I always just used one of my larger purses. I breastfed so we never needed to carry bottles or formula around. It was really just a matter of keeping a couple diapers and the wet bag (we cloth diaper) in there, which really didn't require any special pockets or organization.
I usually kept an extra outfit in the car, just in case. As she got older, I would throw in a snack bag or sippy cup, but other than that- I don't see what else really needs to be lugged around in those big diaper bags.
This time around I got a new big hobo bag from etsy and I love it! This lady has a great selection at very reasonable prices.

I'd rather spend the money on something I like that is of good quality. That was kind of judgy of you.
I bought the Ju Ju Bee BFF. My husband and I will be sharing a diaper bag, so no purse looking bags. I really like the backpack option and it seems large enough to carry everything we'll need.
Check these out! I was one of those that paid an arm and leg for my coach diaper bag and now wish I had one of these. These are pricey too but my SIL has one and the inside is AWESOME! They even have a "mommy section" made for your wallet, cell phone, etc. You can buy them at BBB.
Where'd you buy yours? I want something styilish and like everything this choice is OVERWEHLMING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Im having a boy and just would like some thoughts.
Thanks!
With DD, a friend gave me a cute Vera Bradley diaper bag in Yellow Bird pattern. Their line is cute and have a changing pad and bottle bag included. This time, I totally splurged at the Coach outlet and bought a leather. It was $229, so yes, pricey, but I LOVE it and will use it as a tote and overnight long after the diapers are gone. Don't overthink it -- get something you like carrying around, that is easy to open and has room on the interior.

that didn't sound "judgy" at all. She said SHE couldn't fathom it.
I was in the Guess store and found a huge purse for $50 on clearance and am using it as a diaper bag, but I also plan on breast feeding so there is less I have to worry about in terms of what I need to be carrying around

exactly... i wasn't being judgy at all... I personally just couldn't justify spending that much on a diaper bag... I totally agree with buying what you like, and quality... but the one I got for less than $10 I honestly love it... and yes, the quality may not be like a $400 bag would be... but I take care of my things (NOT saying that you dont!!!!! ) therefore, I don't need the highest quality things. I'd rather spend my money on other things... thats all...
but, if you love it and can justify spending that amount on a bag, more power to you!

We have the baby op black nlon messenger bag. It is pricey at 300 bucks, but can totally be used as a purse too! We are having a boy and my best friend to I or us, so daddy can carry it around too and it isn't too girly!!
When I just saw the post about the kate spade sample sale...I just went on and spoiled myself. I wasn't going to get one since this is my 3rd and final child, but the bag is awesome and I can see myself using it after my baby is grown.

Mommy to a beautiful baby girl & 2 handsome boys!!

My aunts and cousin gave me a Kate Spade diaper bag at my shower (my cousin works for the company). I love it! I will definitely continue to use it for as long as possible. I had registered for a diaper bag from Target, which I also received. I really like it and I am planning on keeping it as well. I know I don't need both, but they are both really cute.
I just found a Skip Hop Studio tote at Marshall's for $39.99. It retails for $85. I love it so far...and it looks like a purse, which means I can use it after baby.

I too bought the timi & leslie "dawn" diaper bag, but in black. I have already packed it and am happy with the size, compartments, accessories and that it is more of understated design. It was around $150 i think from Buy Buy Baby.
My hubbie and I decided to splurge a little and bough the Juicy Couture diaper bag. The Neoprene in black since were having a baby boy. Its awesome and it even came with a bib, wipes holder, and folding changing pad. Good luck cause it took me forever to find something that wasn't crazy looking!

I have the Skip Hop Studio. It has held up really well and I plan to continue to use it with DD2. $39.99 is a great price. I have also seen it at BuyBuy Baby.
Re: Diaper Bags...
I had the hardest time deciding on one also. I refused to carry anything "cutsie" and wanted something that could double as a purse.

I really don't care either way!
Just voicing my opinion, as you did.
skip hop are the best.
btw... for my shower - I got a fancy $500 baby bag and it sucked. The $50 skip hop was awesome.
