I've been trying to find a good gift to give to my soon to be 2 yr old boy at the hospital when he comes to meet his new baby brother. I've already picked up a big brother shirt and book, but want to throw in a toy too. Any ideas? TIA!
She will also be 2 when the baby is born. We are making her up a little gift bag with the camera and some little things like stickers, coloring book and crayons, etc. and will give it to her when she comes to the hospital.
We will be getting our girls a simple stuffed animal...they will be giving their brother a stuffed animal as well. Nothing too complicated. Just a simple little gift to exchange and hold onto.

I love this idea... I wanted to get something special for dd... and I was thinking about a children's camera like mommy! Perfect!

We have crayons and a coloring book, some play dough, stickers, a big brother shirt and a digger machine... a digger machine is my DS's absolute favorite thing, so he will be really excited that the baby got it for him (I can see him saying that LO is the best baby in the world just for receiving a digger machine)
What is your DS into fire trucks? trains? blocks? balls? I would buy something along those lines.

I've been talking to DS about us going to get baby a gift and I asked him what he would like the baby to surprise him with and he asked for a specific stuffed animal so I am going to order those (toopy and binoo)

we got our son.... 2yr this month a baby elmo....baby elmo, sneezes and does baby talk, he has a little blanket too. Toys r us...... under $20... Good luck!
I just went out and got gifts for my 2 kids today "from the baby." They are going to get them at home though before they come see us in the hospital. My DS had just turned 2 when DD was born, and I don't think we got him anything "from her" because he seemed to young to understand that then. I think we got him something from us in addition to a Big Brother shirt, just can't remember what it was, and lots of other people got him things too along with the gift for the baby - I remember one large board book about animals and dinos in particular that he still loves to this day and it always reminds me of when she was born when we read it This time around, they are 5 and 3 so I asked them what they would like for the Baby to get them as a gift and they had specific items... I did my best and I think they will just be thrilled that he "got them something."
DS asked us for a 'little George"-a small Curious George, which is his favorite! I have started collecting some small things relating to curious george to put together a little gift basket for him:)
We found big brother tattoos at hallmark that he will get to put on that day. when he gets to the hospital to visit he will get a gift from the baby and it is an elmo puppet...he loves elmo and puppets so he should love it.
Re: Gift ideas for 2 yr old brother visiting new baby?
We got our daughter this camera (in pink) as a big sister gift:
