For those who give a bottle (as opposed to BFing)-- how many ounces do you give? And do they wet through their diapers? If not, what diapers are you using? Oh--and do they sleep through the night??
We used to give about 6-7 oz but he would wet through no matter what kind we tried--we used every brand--night time--regular--everything. Went down down in ounces and found 4 ounces is the magic number but he's waking to eat in the middle of the night. I give him 5 ounces in the middle of the night but that doesn't even seem to be holding him lately. This guy is a bruiser---he's already about 23 pounds!!! So he really should not be this hungry.
We battled this while I BF'd DS1 and I said I wouldn't do this again with DS2 and here I am....but we don't have experience with the whole bottle thing at bedtime--so wondering what the "norm" is for ounces.

Re: How big is "bedtime" bottle?
8 oz. She sleeps through the night (usually!) She doesn't soak through though; although there has been nasty poops in the AM. (Where she does leak out of her diaper because it is so wet.) But that doesn't happen too often.
She was Pampers Cruisers.
8 oz, DD STTN and wears Pampers Night times.
Does your LO wake up when he's wet in the middle of the night? I know you have tried lots of diapers and exhausted through many options. If he doesn't wake up, can you try to lay down a felt changing pad on top of the sheet for add'l absorption? I bought ours at Target and use them on top of our regular changing table cover. That way if there is a messy diaper I can cut down on laundry.
Bedtime bottle is usually around 5 oz, but she wakes up at 10 and will have another 6-8 oz. she will then sleep in her own crib until about 4 or 5 am, then I bring her to bed with me. At the most she will drink 16 oz from 6 pm- 6:30 am. I know it's a lot, and most moms have cut out the night feed, but I tried and it just didn't work for her. She sleeps much, much better with a bottle at 10 pm.
We use fisher price overnight diapers, and she was wetting through them because she's a tummy sleeper, but I figured out if I put the front part of the diaper higher up on her belly, she doesn't leak through. Haven't had a leak since
This to a tee. She gets 7 oz (unless she stops at 6 and pushes the bottle away sometimes) at 7:15, out by 7:30 and up and wants a bottle ASAP at 6:30 at the latest. She normally wears size 3 but we ended up getting her Pampers Baby Dry in size 4 and she rarely leaks out of those but it has happened a few time but she seems to just take it in stride.
This may sound odd, but have you thought about using a cloth diaper at night. I get absolutely no leaks. We have to use hemp inserts because my daughter is a really heavy wetter, however, no leaks, EVER.
We had to switch from cloth to Pampers at night because no matter what combo of MF/hemp inserts I used, she always woke up drenched.
