I drive a Volvo XC90. We have a Chicco KeyFit30 and two Britax Boulevard CS70's. The key was keeping the infant seat arm bar down and pulling the middle seat as far forward as possible. The middle seat in an XC90 does not have latch, so I installed it (very easily) using the shoulder belt. Both of the Boulevards are still installed with Latch.
You'd have to put the infant in from the front, but it was completely doable. Here's the best pic I got of what this looks like.

We're likely going to get Diono Radian R100's for the twins and keep the KeyFit for the infant. And put the Boulevards in DH's Pilot. Simply because we should probably have seats in both cars at this point.
I still think I'm going to keep the infant in the middle seat though and put him/her in through the front (which would require me to keep the handle down regardless).
HTH someone else!
Re: We did it: 3 car seats across 2nd row of XC90
good job! i highly recommend the Radian carseats.
we dont have ours in yet but my husband did a test run to make sure re: that second row.....we probably wont put the infant seats in until later bc i still have to deal with my son getting in and out. but it's comforting to know we dont have to lose our trunk space right?
Awesome! I'm itching to get out of my minivan!
Have you seen the angle adjusters on the radians? I can't wait for mine!
Awesome!!! I have the XC60 and I think I found car seats that will fit across, but I still have to try it out... might talk DH into doing that tomorrow.
Question, did you do anything about de-activating the side-curtain airbags? I've been studying my owner's manual, but don't see instructions on how to do it, or if it's even necessary since they are just curtains (I think) and therefore don't shoot out....????
Good to know (and see), thanks! We're hoping to fit an infant in DH's Highlander where we have our 2nd set of DDs' car seats (I have a van with Britax Marathons). It will be tight but hopefully doable!
And I bet you'll get even more room in the middle when you put the Chicco infant seat RF.
No. The twins have been left and right (same positions) the entire time in my car and I didn't even know deactivating was an option. I don't know if it matters because, like you mentioned, it is a curtain? We have the local police department check our installation every time we put new seats in and they didn't mention it either?!
It is rear facing, all of the seats are. This pic was taken from my "trunk".
Yes!! I saw them yesterday! The thought that I might be able to (even slightly) recline my seat makes me so excited!
Wow! That's awesome! Can't wait to try this out!
