I just trashed a whole package of egg noodles I was cooking for a casserole. I was on the phone and distracted, and I set the timer for three minutes longer than I should have. They were mush, and would have gotten mushier in the oven, so I pitched them and started over with a box of rotini. It was the right thing to do, this dish makes a ton of leftovers and no one would want to eat them with the pasta disintegrating, but now I'm disgusted with myself. Eight ounces of egg noodles literally down the drain.
Re: vent - I really hate throwing away food.
I cannot tell you how many pots of rice I have burned since the baby was born. I need to start using a timer. It really bums me out because it's not like brown rice cooks quickly and I can just whip up another pot in ten minutes.
I hate when J bi!ches at me about how I never buy milk or something that only he would use, and then when I do it goes bad unopened in the fridge.
Egg noodles are so tricky. I finally mastered egg noodles.
I dislike throwing away food too. The only thing I find my self tossing out is celery. There is always a huge bundle of celery and I never get to using it all before it becomes soft. Yuck!
