My husband and I have been TTC for 4 cycles. I suspected a Luteal Phase Defect, so I decided to go to an OB/GYN to get it checked. She took some blood last week, and called on monday to ask me to come in and go over the results. Yesterday, while at the doc office, she starts off by telling me that the blood may have gotten mixed up with someone else's at the lab, and told me a story from the news where a woman was diagnosed with cancer, only to find out it was not her bloodwork. So, she proceeds to tell me that my bloodwork is saying I am peri-menapausal (losing ovarian function). I am 32! She tells me she'll call tomorrow after they get my 2nd round of blood tests back. I got a call from her assistant this morning (the same one that took the blood from me both times), and she says the Dr wanted her to call me and tell me MY BLOODWORK ALL NORMAL!! I cannot believe this happened. I was beside myself last night, barely slept. I did research last night and saw I had a very SMALL chance of ever getting pregnant. I want a 3rd test just to be sure, but that defanitely put things into perspective.
Anyone had anything like this happen to them?

I had a vm on my cell phone from my OB.GYN office telling me my pap smear came back positive for High Risk HPV. I freaked out.
Called the next day as soon as they opened and the nurse that answered told me she was looking at my blood work and it was all normal, and that the nurse the day before must have accidentally called the wrong patient.
Which means someone out there actually did test positive for High Risk HPV and doesn't know it. I switched doctors.

That's what I thought.
So, OP - You should be going back to your OBgyn for a progesterone blood test 7 days past ovulation, then back next cycle on day 3 to have your other blood tests done again. Otherwise, you cannot trust the results.
Also, why do you think you have LPD? Link to your fertility friend chart?
What the h*ck is wrong with people??? That's unbelievable!
Also last night, I saw on the news how one CVS (in NJ) has been mixing children's pills for immune system with breast cancer pills, for more than 5 months. Are you kidding me? I guess they just have morons taking care of our health now!
They're human, they make mistakes. Unless you've never made a mistake at your job you can hardly call it unbelievable.
As for the CVS story- I haven't seen/read it myself but if it is the case thats awful and hopefully they're able to make the affected people (and their doctors) aware of the mixup so it can be properly handled.
OP- I'm sorry you had the stress of getting potentially incorrect results but at least your doctor was upfront about the possibility of it being a mixup. Far better than trying to hide it IMO.
