Non Stress Test

Today we had a non stress test and they had to buzz him 4 times to try to get him to move. He never did get any real movements going and actually had one big deceleration where his heartrate went down to 65. We did an ultrasound and the tech kept telling me he was moving, but I didn't see anything or feel anything so she gave me the full 8 points. Things have slowed down alot this past week and I am not feeling much movement and having some mild cramping. Is this normal or do you think they should be looking more into this?

    NSTs and BPP are two different things. The decel could have been baby kicking itself off the monitor, but if you got 8 of 8 on your BPP, you're fine.

    If you having cramping I'd mention it can be just constipation but having had a premie before 35 weeks esp, they can stop labor.

    I'd push for them to look into it more if you feel like it's not normal. Mother knows best.

    We had to go back in today because there was just not any movement happening. We failed NST again and so the doctor sent us straight to the hospital to be monitored for a few hours. His BPP was great but they monitored us for 4 hours. Told us if we don't get 10 kicks in a hour time frame, come back. I really think that is being a little overzealous since his BPP's are showing good. The only thing I am concerned about is maybe he is just not moving much because my Blood Pressure is very low. They took it 3 times and it was staying around 100/49. So stressful!
