And how long do you plan to continue?
Our 8 month old still sleeps in our bed. We are starting sleep training soon (again), so I'm unsure if I should first start working on STTN or transitioning her to crib. I don't mind her sleeping in the bed, if she were to sleep longer stretches, or preferably all night.
So I'm just wondering if most co-sleeping babies switch to crib by now, or do most still co-sleep?
TIA!
Re: How many of you are still co-sleeping?
We were co sleeping til three weeks, then we started bed sharing and it was awesome. We put him in his crib at seven weeks though per pedis recommendation. It went very well and he started sttn then. He's not sttn anymore, but we only bed share when he's having trouble going down, I think he knows that if I lay down with him to nurse him that I'm not going anywhere and he feels more secure.
I would actually like to bed share all the time, because it would be easier on me. DH can't get comfortable with DS in bed though really. And we also don't have bed rails so I'm less inclined to bring him in bed with DH.
Lots of parents bed share for a very long time, but I would definitely try the crib if i were you if she is waking more then twice at night. But honestly, if it's twice or less, I would just let it be.
We're still bedsharing. I read Good Night Sleep Tight and I'm in the middle of The No Cry Sleep Solution. I'd like to start transitioning her to the crib in the next few weeks.
She wakes up a few times a night, which isn't a big deal. The downside for me is that DH doesn't have enough room in the bed and I'd rather not have him sleep in the guest bed much longer. The other issue I have is that DD nurses to sleep and she periodically wakes up to check that I'm there. So here I am trapped in bed on a Friday night. I'm going to sneak out eventually (we have bed rails), but she will wake up soon after, so I basically have no life at the moment.
