I'm supposed to go no longer than 8 hours now between testing (and between my last snacks), since apparently, longer than that just doesn't work with my body; my BG spikes uncontrollably if I wait.
So I have my last snack at 10:15pm, take my insulin immediately after, then test my fasting blood glucose at 6:15am, and have my "breakfast" at 6:30am.
(Which to me, feels like I'm practically sleep-snacking, and I hate having to eat then, but it's the only way I'm keeping my fasting BG under 95 even with the long-acting insulin at night).

Sometimes I stop eating at 7, sometimes I snack at 11....
I always test around the same time though 6:30/7:00. I generally get the same results.
I eat my snack between 9 and 9:30 and take my fasting numbers between 7:15 and 8:15 in the morning
