Starting around 30 weeks I had terrible back pain, especially while sitting upright and during the night. I know it's a common symptom so I just wanted to mention that acupuncture has been INCREDIBLY helpful for me. Today I've been sitting at my desk all morning with no need for a heating pad or tylenol, which is amazing (especially since I've only gotten bigger since 30 weeks!). I've done a bunch of other things to help too, so I can't credit it entirely to acupuncture. But if you're struggling it's worth giving it a try. I've had 3 sessions now and it's gotten progressively better each time.

What is the experience like? I am so afraid to go and voluntarily have needles put in me.
For me, I barely feel the needles going in, and I don't feel them at all once they're in. It might help that they're all in my back, so I can't see them (which might freak me out). I lay on my side, she puts them in, then she aims a heating lamp at me for an hour or so. I've fallen asleep every time.
But my friend who recommended her used her for fertility treatments, and she found the needles irritating. She's also really allergic to certain metals (like in earrings), so it may have been a skin irritation. So it's different for everyone. But the needles are really tiny.
