And it's supposed to arrive today and I'm so excited! Too bad it's pouring rain here so no jog/power walking for me today. Hopefully this stroller will help shrink my a$$. One can only hope :0)
To OP and PP: It isn't considered a full fledged jogger, but a hybrid between a stroller and a jogger. I was told by Buy Buy Baby I could easily jog with it, but if I was a big runner that I wouldn't want this model.
The people at buy buy baby told me not to use the city elite to jog. Apparently the shocks and suspension aren't equipped to handle it. They said it's confusing because the brand is baby jogger. I was super disappointed because it was cute and if it served the stroller and the jogger function I was all about it.

PP's are correct. Baby Joggers brand are absolutely NOT jogging strollers. But they do make some great strollers. If you actually call Baby Jogger they will tell you not to jog with their products.

I am by no stretch of the imagination a "jogger" and will never become one. I am aware that the baby jogger isn't supposed to be used as a jogger. I went and checked out all the joggers at a local baby store and thought I was initially going to get the BOB but it didn't fit my 3 year old! I talked to the sales people and told them I was going to do more power-walking with few intermittent sprinting and they recommended the elit. I loved it and it will totally be appropriate for my own personal use. The BOB was a disappointment though! I was surprised at how short the back was, my 3 year olds head was touching the canopy! It wouldn't have lasted.
I'm so glad you checked. I was just worried because (maybe I'm dumb) but I absolutely did not realize the City Elite wasn't a jogger. I thought it was, until the sales staff informed me otherwise. That's so disappointing to hear about the BOB. I was maybe going to get one once I've weaned but my bets are on Caroline being a tall child and if she's not going to fit in it there's no point.
I love the BJ brand! I have convinced DH that since i will be a SAHM once this baby is born that i will need a reliable double stroller, so I'm getting the City Select at some point this summer. I've been checking craigslist daily because I'd really like to avoid the $650 price, but if I have to pay it then so be it, it can be my birthday present too!
Supermom, enjoy your new stroller!

Enjoy it! To other posters, some of their strollers are jogging
strollers - in fact Baby Jogger made the first/original jogging
stroller. If you check their website, you will see that there are
urban/all terrain strollers and jogging strollers. Sometimes it pays to
do your own research instead of listening to the sales people at the
"baby" stores who just want to sell something, not really that
knowledgeable in what is considered a jogging stroller versus all around
type stroller. I love my City Mini, would never use it for a jogging
stroller or ever thought I would otherwise (actually had a single Kelty
jogging stroller that I used for jogging - sold it because it was a
single and I couldn't use it anymore since I have both kids all the
time), but they do have some very good jogging strollers.
ETA: not trying to start a debate about these strollers, I just love their brand and would hate to see anyone skip over them if they were truly in the market for a jogging stroller as they do makea coupleVERY GOOD jogging strollers.

Baby Jogger does make several jogging strollers, but it's more popular strollers (City Mini, Elite, Select) aren't joggers.
OP- We have a City Elite and LOVE it. I do wish we had the current model and not the previous year, though. There are about 3 things I don't like about our stroller and they were all changed with the new model. Enjoy!
