Got DS transitioned to the crib this weekend. I put him down in the crib around midnight (still working on an earlier bedtime!), swaddled in a blanket, and parallel to the front (long side) of the crib. I went to check on him when he was making a little noise to make sure he wasn't waking to feed. I found him out of his blanket, turned 90 degrees, and at the very end of the crib. Slightly concerning to me is that we have the AngelCare sound and movement monitor. Since he was no longer in the center of the bed, the mat that detects movement becomes pointless.
Anyone else experienced this? I am worried as well, because, for safety, we don't have a bumper. Any thoughts on how to keep him safe if he is going to be so mobile in his sleep?

Our LO sleeps in a bassinet and he's been "scooching" himself for a couple of weeks to the side. The first time it was a bit alarming, but it makes me laugh now.
Britany, I have a breathable bumper in LO's crib, if you want to take a look!: https://www.toysrus.com/search/index.jsp?kwCatId=&kw=breathable bumper&origkw=breathable+bumper&f=Taxonomy/TRUS/2255957&sr=1
Yep! We used the AngelCare until DS was 2.5 and going to a regular bed and I assure you he was all over that thing. He usually slept in one corner in a ball.
