I have started my son on solid foods. I tried rice cereal at first and my son would barely eat it. I switched to orange vegetables (sweet potato and carrot) and they are working out great. I tried mixing carrot with a little rice cereal and within an hour he had diarrhea. He has had no problems w/ the veggies alone. How do you know if your child cannot tolerate a food? Anyone elses baby not do well with the rice? Do you move onto another grain? Thanks trying to figure out these solids.
Re: Rice cereal intolerance?
if you have been using the cereal without any problems so far it could be the carrots.
there are other cereals. there is barley and oatmeal as well as organic.
Depending on the age of DC it could just be due to the digestive system still needing time to mature.
Barley is best for DS, but he eats anything now.
Odd that you mention carrots. Up until just last week DS used to always puke up carrots. He's fine with them now though.
