Low Fluid at 36 weeks?

Anyone??? I went in this morning for my first non stress test and while he looked great on the monitors, the scan showed very low levels of fluid.  They measured 5.5 and said normal is 11.  The cutoff for delivery is 5.  So I'm dangerously close.  They sent me on my way with instructions to drink a ton of water and report back in the morning.

I'm 36 weeks 1 day, so I'm feeling okay about an early delivery, but not great.  Ideally we'd hold off another 2 weeks!

Anyone have their fluid levels come back up???

Re: Low Fluid at 36 weeks?

  • Sorry I'm no help, just wanted to say my cousin had low fluid levels, had to get a bunch of NSTs and ended up being induced at 37 weeks because they couldn't get her fluid levels up. She has a beautiful, healthy baby boy though!

  • I measured at 7 last Thursday, going back tomorrow to check again.  I think i just needed to drink more water though (wasn't feeling well that morning and water gives me reflux).  I have had weekly ultrasounds since jan. and this was the first time my fluid was low.  My doula didn't seem worried, said just make sure to drink lots of water before ultrasound.

    Good luck!
