First a little back story:
I come from a very large family and Easter is one of my favorite holidays, we cook, i make a cake, we go to church and then spend time watching all the kids searching for eggs in their cute clothes.
It just dawned on me that I am due 5 days before Easter! Not only am I hoping not to have the baby on Easter, but i'm quite bummed that we can't make any plans. My mother lives right around the corner from me and I plan on going over there if we are home from the hospital. This means I will be missing out on my dad's family, FIL's family and MIL's family. My husband suggested that we have it at our house (it came from a good place) however that is just craziness!
Anyone else disappointed that they can't plan for Easter, or won't be able to visit with everyone?
Re: Making Easter Plans?
Your Easter can still be great. It's all in what you make it.
I say this from experience: when my daughter was born, we were living in Savannah, Georgia where we had no friends or family. All of DH's friends/coworkers had gotten deployed without him, so we were literally alone in a strange city. We spent all of DD's first holidays with just the 3 of us.
But ya know what? It was fine. Because we made it fine. We just created a new normal and made sure we made the days special.
GL!
Probably not the answer you are looking for - but I am feeling a sense of relief when it comes to my family. My brother's wife is incredibly jealous of the fact that we are expecting, and she has worked very hard to drive a wedge between my only sibling and me. He mindlessly supports her...or at least he does not want to hear her constant yapping, and I am just trying to keep my stress level well-managed. This is one less holiday that my mom has to worry about or that we have to figure out how to manage. Hoping to have my mother over to spend some time with her grandchild on that day - later in the afternoon.
My SIL has a very important day at church on Easter. My goal is to make sure that either my DH or I am there to support her. She is very understanding - but she has me due before Easter and our other SIL due after Easter. She does so much to support us both that we want to make sure we pack the pews with as many family members as possible!
You know what will be awesome?? Making an Easter basket for our LO next year!
