Anyone else resent the Facebook group?

When did personal attacks come into this? I never said a single thing about any one who chose to go to the FB group, just that I was sad about the very direct link between that group starting and this board slowing down.

And please, point out where I complain about the FB group being too fast. I never have, because I've never gone over there. I'm just not interested in a FB group. I just love how "fast" this board was pre-FB group. So if you're going to personally attack me, at least do it for things I've actually said.

Listen, you say you wish the fb people would come back and post here. But the truth is a lot of us would but posts like this are what has drawn a line in the sand for people. We have been 100% welcoming of new posters, but over here posts like this one pop up declaring how lame we are. Thank YOU for being so welcoming.

I too am not joining the FB group. However I actually don't mind that this board has slowed down a bit because I can actually keep up now, since I cannot come on every day, and I check in at PAIF and Multiples. I kind of feel like with the smaller community here it's a bit easier to get to know people. I didn't really feel as connected before.

Okay, you might get it, but every time one of these posts come up someone's big argument about it is the lack of privacy fb has and how they don't want people in their real life to see their posts. The other big argument is that people here don't want their "real" names to come out and prefer keeping their anonymity. Okay...so that promotes friendships? We get it...you are smart and we big bad fb'ers think you are all stupid over here. I'm glad you aren't joining. Your post makes you sound self righteous. Get over yourself. Facebook didn't take away from the board. Stop saying that. It is just easier for people to post from their phones, or other devices there. I'm not sure if you noticed but The Bumps website blows. Its difficult to maneuver, post and its frequently down. Again, this horse has been beat. Its exhausting.

I didn't have a 1 hour test-mine was 2- and even I know that the majority of people who failed their 1 hour passed their 3 hour), "how do Iavoid/ get rid of stretch marks?" (you CAN'T), "fb sucks", wah wah wah.

You DON'T need to join the fb page, especially if you won't enjoy it or don't like fb in general, but the FB page did NOT "take away from TB". If we all had migrated to babycenter.com or a proboard would you be so upset? Is it because it's not anonymous and you can't hide behind a psuedonym that you have a problem with it? The fact that people are kicked off of the fb page for being shady makes me a whole lot more comfortable, especially since any pedophile or freak with a pregnant woman fetish can come check out the pics and info over here and TB has little control over it.

Another drawback to TB is that you constantly have to refresh to see new posts or comments on threads. That's just a PITA to me. I am notified when someone comments on a post I started or commented on on FB and it is automatically refreshed so I don't have to go in and out and dart around.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE drop this. I get you're upset, but GET OVER IT. You made a decision not to join, quit b!tching about it! Pull up your big girl panties and move on. Is this really THAT big of a deal?

Also, why are you bitching at me to drop it? I've not commented on it before. I did now. It's nice to hear I'm not alone, and since I brought it up the number of posts has upped again.

Further, don't tell me to not be upset and just not join if I don't like things about FB, and then go on and on about things you don't like about TB. If you don't like it, don't hang out here. You get over it, too.

My OP was not derogatory or mean. I didn't say anything about anyone who joined. I didn't attack anyone for their choice. I didn't say the FB group was too fast, just that I didn't want to be a part of it, and that I do feel some resentment about how there was a direct link between the FB group starting and this board slowing WAY down. I think that's a fair statement to make, and, for the most part, no one who agrees with me has been virulent. We just all are a little sad, and it's OK to express that to each other. No need to come back screaming at me.

Yawn. You bore me.

Jeeze, I evidently hit a nerve, here. Sorry, y'all, I didn't mean this to be a giant deal. In my OP I did not bash anyone who went to FB or say it was all or nothing. I was just trying to say that I wish things here would pick up, and I'm sad one effect of the FB group (which I was not opposed to at all when it was started) seems to be that things here have slowed down. I don't feel like it was mean, attacking, or calling people who post on FB lame. Just talking about something which has obviously affected the board. Guess that's not OK, I'll just pretend it doesn't exist some more.
