3rd Trimester

Off Work at 28 Weeks

I have a job where I am on my feet for 8-10 hours a day.  I was having issues with severe dizziness and shortness of breath.  After seeing a cardiologist (on the recommendation from my OB) I was taken off work. I have low blood pressure that seems to drop lower and lower the more I am on my feet (has anyone else had this?) I might loose my mind being off this long!

Re: Off Work at 28 Weeks

  • I got pulled out of work at 12 weeks for heart issues as well. I actually passed out at work at 10 weeks and have been suffering from dizziness and trouble breathing ever since. Then I went into PTL at 29 weeks so now I'm on modified bedrest. Luckily I have a toddler to keep me busy, but the days can get kind if long. I've been working on some baby projects (making stuff for the nursery), catching up on some reading, and trying to get everything else we need for baby done since she's probably coming early during the times DD is resting or playing independently. GL to you!

  • I have no experience with the cardiac issues, but I was pulled out of work at 26 weeks to be put on modified bedrest( my baby has severely low fluid & IUgR). It gets boring, but you just have to think about the big picture, a healthy baby. good luck to you!
My little pumpkin was born at 34weeks, weighing 3lbs, due to severe IUGR & Unexplained Placental Insufficiency. He spent 49 days in the NICU. Lilypie Premature Baby tickers imageimageimageimageimageimage
  • i was pulled at 28/29 weeks for dizziness/fainting/shortness of breath/racing heart etc.  at this point it is all about my baby and I will do anything for it, so stopping work was fine by me!

  • I was pulled at 27 weeks for PTL issues. It gets boring, but its completely worth it. Honestly, these past 6+ weeks have flown by..and not too much longer!! You can do it!
  • I'm 30 wks and don't have low blood pressure issies, but was sent to the cardiologist this wk due to dizziness, shortness of breath and high heartrate.  I'm waiting for the rest of my test results to come back- so far thankfully everything has been normal.  I almost wish I would officially be put on bedrest sometimes because the dizziness is really scary.  I basically go to work, dr appts, occasional short errands when i feel up to it and that's about it.   I'm sorryyou are going through this- I know it is no fun!
  • I'm at 26 weeks and have low blood pressure to begin with.  I started to get dizzy at work a few weeks ago, talked to my OB and was sent to my cardiologist (preexisting heart condition).  I'm still working, but am on a heart monitor for a month.  Wondering how much longer I will be allowed to work...
