3rd Trimester

constantly short of breath.

not really a question, just a vent.  i have a 15month old and rarely get a chance to relax...i am constantly short of breath, even when lying in bed.  i don't want DD2 to come this early, but i'm so over being pregnant.

Re: constantly short of breath.

  • I'm right there with you on the shortness of breath thing. I have a 3 and 5 year old, and lead a very busy life. I have a hard time catching my breath ALOT. I just asked my mom to come do my BP to make sure that's not a culprit.

  • I hear ya! I have been having a lot of shortness of breath too but paired with dizziness and high heartrate- had to see cardiologist this wk but all is well so far with my tests. I think there are probably a lot of others who feel "so over being pregnant" but you feel so guilty saying it out loud, selfish even! My OB put it this way this wk:  3rd tri is like a rollarcoaster- some days you will feel awful, some days ok- you basically have a parasite inside of you sucking the life out of you.  lol i hadn't thought of it that way but I guess it's true!  growing a human being is hard work and I guess we are bound to feel rotten sometimes.  Makes me envious of those women who just feel amazing and glow through their pregnancy!!!  hang in there, you are not alone!
  • 3rd tri was easier for me with my first.  if i felt crappy, or i didn't sleep the night before, i could just veg all day long and not do anything.  having a 15 month old, i don't get that option.  poor DD, she doesn't understand when mommy has to rest and can't play.

  • I'm there too...but I don't have to deal with other children since I'm a FTM.  It's the thing that I most dislike about pregnancy.  I miss oxygen!
  • Oh man..I feel ya!  I have an almost 3yo and a 4.5yo.  I feel like getting up is a marathon.  I'm tired just watching them with their energy.  And, I dont get a break, my hubs works off-shore for 2 weeks at a time...when will it be over?

  • You might want to tell your Dr, you could be anemic. I thought my shortness of breath was just one of the normal issues...then when they checked my blood I was so anemic that if I had the baby at that point I would have needed a blood transfusion and if I had been having any other symptoms they would have sent me to the hospital....

  • I get out of breath just eating these days, it's ridiculous.  Everything feels like I ran a marathon or something.  I understand!

I found out my iron levels are a little low and now am taking a supplement.  I feel short of breath sometimes.
