Pregnant after a Loss

If you have an anterior placenta, when did you feel movement?

Just curious. My docor said that it might take longer for me to feel baby kicks because my baby is behind the placenta.

  • My first was anterior and I didnt feel him for the first time until about 22weeks...and then I didnt feel him consistantly until I was about 26 weeks.

  • I felt little flutters off and on around 20 weeks but nothing definative until around 22 or so.  Then regularly for sure at 24 weeks.  Perfect V Day present!

  • I had an anterior with Alexander and I was feeling him on a regular basis by 17w5d. If I didn't feel him 30 times a day by 20 weeks it was a weird day. I think it just depends on how active your baby is.

I have an anterior with this one too and ever now and then I think I feel something. It just feels more muffled. Obviously this is like once every three days or so, but I think I've had several instances where I've had a very low kick, soft kick.

I really think it will just depend on your baby.

  • 20 weeks.  It is possible I felt flutters before, but honestly it wasn't distinct movement until 20 weeks.

  • I still started to feel mine early...15/16 weeks? But it was my 3rd preg and the feeling wasn't as regular or as strong until closer to 20 weeks.

  • I felt some bubbly feeling taps around 18-20 weeks, but nothing easy to notice as baby movement until after 20 weeks.  With DS I had a PP and started feeling bubbly movement around 17 weeks about definite baby movement around 18 weeks.

  • I felt flutters early on (13 weeks) but nothing much until 22 weeks.  It wasn't until about 32-33 weeks that I felt her almost consistently.  I remember freaking out at 26 weeks because of lack of movement and then again at 30 weeks.  I even had to bust out the doppler at 32 weeks for a day or two.  It must have been the positions she was in or just a few quiet days.  I feel like I got jipped this pregnancy with lots of movements but it has picked up more now and I love it.

  • I felt one distinct double tap at about 17 1/2 weeks.  After that, nothing distinct, but I had little "tickles" for a couple weeks that I still am not sure were movement or not.  I hadn't felt anything like them before, or since.  Around 20 weeks I started to feel consistent movement, and right after that could feel it on the outside as well.  I always felt it on the sides though, and its only been in the last few weeks that I've felt anything in front, and those are still pretty rare.

  • With my DS I felt tapping around 16 weeks and I'm defintely feeling it this week w/ this babe. I felt a lot of my movement on the sides.
