Sorry, just a proud mama moment today. I cried. It has been a complete nightmare potty training DS. He basiscally refuses to even try and when he does try he gets so frustrated and just looks up at me with his sweet big blue eyes and says "why the pee pee not coming mama?"
:::dies:::
Anyway, this weekend we've been in potty training boot camp. It's awesome, let me tell ya. We've been taking him to try every 20 minutes and even if he just sits there and tries, he's rewarded for it. (Thank you M&Ms.) But I told him he would get a new car toy he wanted and that his little potty would sing to him when he actually pee'd on the potty (and not just tried to go.)
Well today was that day. I took him up right after nap and sat on the bathroom floor with him while he sat on his potty. We played a game together (a game he can only play ON the potty) and his potty started singing and I think I screamed. I was so so happy and excited for him. And the proud look on his face? OMG. I will never ever forget it.
We made a HUGE deal about it. Daddy and Brynnie came upstairs and everyone cheered and hugged Carter then we all hopped in the car and went to the store for Carter to pick out his new car.
It was a sweet moment and I just had to share. I hope this nightmare gets a little easier now. For us it's by far been the worst part of parenting, but it comes with the territory right? Ha! (See what you FTM have to look forward too!?!)
Yay Carter Man!

YAY!!! Hopefully by the time baby comes he'll be well established on the toilet and then you'll still only have 2 in diapers!!
I am completely dreading potty training when it comes time (this will be my first) cause I was a pain in the butt about it, so I know karma is just waiting....

WOO HOO! What a big moment!!!
Potty training DS has been a nightmare for us, too. He finally got to where he'll pee on the potty about a month ago, but it took ages. I hope potty training continues to go well for Carter!
This exactly. We tried when DD wasn't ready and it was a nightmare. We waited to try again when she was ready [at a later age than a lot of girls PT] and it took about a week. You just need readiness and the right prize lol. For us it was toy cars and smarties!

Thanks everyone! He went again this morning. YAY! Keep it up Carter!
You have no idea how many times I've said that. I also always say that there should be anger management classes for toddlers as well.
