And want to shoot the sh!t?
I think my Bump stalking is out of control. I was so bummed when it was down all day. I couldn't get a good satisfying mental break from work that I needed. Tough life right?
Now I'm watching Say Yes to the Dress, the southern version. DH doesn't understand why I watch it, because his logic is that we are married, whats the point. Still love it!
Re: Anyone around?
I'm around! Just finished watching the last episode Downton Abbey, which has seriously damaged my calm! We don't have cable so I can't usually get good crack TV
I have to watch online!
I had some trouble functioning without Bumping today, too!
Can you get Downton on Netflix? I've heard a lot of grater things about the show. I love everything British, so I'm imagining I'd like it.
I am doing 2 of the 3 things you are
I can't stop watching Say Yes to the Dress. It's a marathon!
You can get the first season on Netflix, and the second season is streaming online on the show's website for another week, I think? It's FANTASTIC. I love period dramas and a lot of British television in general. I don't know how I am going to last until September when it returns for a third season!
Ok I'm going to at least watch the first season then. I always get into tv shows five years later than everyone else. Like Sex and the City. I got into it years after the series was finished. I'm so stubborn and watch the same shows.
I do the same thing. I tend to really get into shows after they have been cancelled, and I love watching a series from the beginning to the end. I have never seen Sex and the City! I've read Candace Bushnell years ago, but I usually watch super, unabashedly nerdy stuff like Star Trek :P
I seriously love period dramas too!! Oh man...I love to watch (when I have the time) all 6 hours of the BBC production of Pride and Prejudice...the one with Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy!
Ah now I loved the Star Trek movie!
I LOVE that Pride and Prejudice! Colin Firth will only be my Mr. Darcy. The Keira Knightley one was just ok.
Yeah...I wasnt a fan of the Keira Knightly one...they shortened it too much. We have marathons (when I'm with my mom and sisters) where we just watch period flicks...Mansfield Park, Pride and Prejudice, Daniel Deronda..etc.
Oh, and Colin Firth is on my "Do List". He just gets sexier and sexier with age. *drool*
Yeah you can't really do the book justice with a short movie. I've had a huge crush on him ever since then. Nobody does broody like Firth.
I'm more of the NPR, world news kind of nerd. I got real excited because my boss wanted to talk about Russian politics one day. I support and love all types of nerds though
No...Colin Firth does broody...if you look it up in a dictionary, it's got Colin Firth/Mr Darcy brooding. LOL
Did you see Lost in Austen? It was better than I thought it would be,..
No I haven't. I was a little skeptical about it, but again, I'm pretty stubborn with trying out new shows. If it had Firth in it, I'd definitely see it! The Kings Speech was really good.
this totally just made my night....yummy!
What network is Cold Case on?!? These women/families on Say Yes to the Dress are making my blood pressure go up! Haha.
Nerds of all kinds get gold stars in my book, too
Omigosh, would that I hadn't gone to bed and could've gushed about the BBC Pride & Prejudice last night! It is one of my all time favorites, and I totally agree about the Keira Knightley version... it was pretty, but the only thing I really appreciated about it was that the cast was much closer in age to the characters in the novel. Overall it just felt much fluffier.
Have any of you seen the Masterpiece Theatre Sense & Sensibility? Or Jane Eyre? Those are both stellar, too. I loaned out my copy of Jane Eyre and have never gotten it back, and I desperately want to buy it again.
