My sweet baby Gracie Lenore arrived Friday the 17th weighing in at 8 lbs. 1 oz. 20 1/2 inches long. She was born via scheduled c-section. The section went well but baby girl aspirated fluid and was having problems breathing. She was put on oxygen intubated and given surfactant to help her lungs. She then developed a pneumothorax which is an injury to the lung from struggling to breathe. She's been in the NICU since she was born and has been on oxygen and antibiotics. The pneumothorax has healed and most of the fluid has cleared from her lungs. She is finally off the oxygen as of this morning and hopefully can go home tomorrow after her last dose of antibiotics... which we are SO hoping for! I've been exclusively breastfeeding so I've been spending most of my days in here with her while my awesome mother cares for DS, and ferries me back and forth.

I'm totally in love with this little girl so it's all worth it! I am having a SUPER easy recovery and on day 6 pretty much feel back to normal. Hope everyone else is enjoying their babies.. or are close to having babies!

(oh and I tried to post a pic but the stupid hospital has tinypic blocked!)

Re: Baby girl is here!
Congrats! Glad she's recovering well and quickly. Sending T&Ps that she gets to go home tomorrow. That's awesome that recovery is going well. Especially with an older child!
Boo about the no picture
