I am watching the news there is a blood test coming out to test for Downs syndrome that is going to be 90% accurate...anyone else heard about this before?

This test actually came out in October in select cities. It is called MaterniT21 and the detection rate for T21 is supposedly 99%, although there are a small number of false positives, so they recommend amnio or CVS to confirm a positive result. It can also detect T13 and T18. It is currently only being offered to women who are at high risk (including those over 35).
