1st Birthday on a Monday - party before or after?

If your LO's 1st birthday is on a week day are you having the party before or after their actual date? I would like to have her birthday the weekend before, but then she wouldn't technically be 1 yet.  Stupid leap year!

BFP #2: 7/23/14 - MC: 8/28/14
BFP #3: 2/22/15 - MC: 3/3/15

    I think you are overthinking it a bit. I don't think it really matters if she is a few days shy of 1. Have the party whenever is most convenient for you guys.

    We're having M's on May 12 :)  Mostly because my sister wouldn't be able to come the weekend after.

    Do whatever works for you and your family.  It doesn't matter if she is technically 1 or not.

    C's 1 year is on a Sunday but we're having the party Saturday because all of our family will need to be driving back home on Sunday (we live 4 hours away from one set of family and 12 hours from the other set).

    That's what I'm debating about if I want to do the 12th or 13th (which is Mother's Day).

    C's birthday gets to be on a Saturday (I love leap year!) so we'll do it on his bday, but K's 1st was on a Weds and we actually had the party on Tues. It is totally over thinking it, but I understand your thought because as silly as it is I was sad she wasn't technically one yet at her party. However, I think I would've hated it more to have it after she was one. So, I'd do it before. Smile I'm just a silly over thinker too.

    LO's birthday is on a Monday and his party will be the following Saturday (because it was more convenient for us).

    We're still planning on doing something special on his actual birthday. Not sure what .. maybe the smash cake photo shoot.

    My LO's birthday is on a Monday too.  We're doing the party the Saturday or Sunday right before.  The weekend after is my birthday and memorial day weekend, so before is better for us!

    DD's bday falls on Friday June 1 but we can't do June 2 because we have a wedding to go to (actually we are in it!). So her party will be Sunday May 27, since my family has to travel and spend the night and they have off for Memorial Day the following day. DD's party is a picnic-type deal :-)

    We totally lucked out this year because June 23rd falls on a Saturday (woot!).

    I personally, would have his birthday the weekend before if it fell on a Monday and then maybe take Monday off of work and go do something just the three of you (zoo, beach, aquarium, etc...)
