I had a shower this weekend with family and close friends (a lot of MIL's friends) and I got mainly clothing. Being a FTM I could really use some stuff off my registry. I know that my church is throwing a second baby shower for me sometime in the future.
Would it be considered rude to put on the invite something along the lines of no clothing? I have baby clothes coming out my ears and I do not need any more. I feel like because it's twin girls that people just want to get matching outfits.
I do have a wide range of items on my registry from cheap to expensive for people to choose from so people don't have to spend a lot if they don't want to. I just could really use more of the baby gear and "stuff" than outfits.
Re: Is this rude?
Thanks guys. I felt it wasn't appropriate but a friend suggested doing it. I'm grateful for anything anyone gives me.
I appreciate your opinions!

We're expecting a boy and my sister has a 6 month old boy and has TONS of clothes that she has already started boxing up for us. I fully expect we'll get a lot of clothes at our shower so I just plan to return it for other stuff we need.
He's the single greatest thing I've done in my life and reminds me daily of how fun (and funny) life can be. He's turned out pretty swell for having such a heartless and evil mother.
This is really the only way to do it.
Just take some of the clothes back and get what you need. We got a ton of clothes as well. I swear I can go 6 months and he will never wear the same out fit twice. I plan on going through them all and taking some back. We got mostly all the big stuff too but I would like to take them back and get things like diapers. Mainly bc I feel he is going to wear a cheap $3 onsie more often than a $15 outfit the first couple months.
i'd leave that out of the invites & just return some clothing so you have more money towards the gear. although both might seem rude, at least this way its more hidden..
