My son had not given me a stool diaper in over 24 hours and he seemed to be uncomfortable, so I decided to try the 'trick' of Vaseline and a Q-tip. It did work for us!
My husband is pretty great with sharing the load in making sure DS' needs are met. After friends left tonight, he asks if I want a break, and I say I'm going to take a bath. Famous last words of my husband are "Don't worry, we'll be fine, I've got a bottle if he needs it."
Cut to ten minutes later, it's like a scene from a movie where I'm comfortable in the tub, shaving my legs, listening to my husband agonizing over what Ben just gave him - like I said, the Q-tip trick worked really well this time.
After I took my time and got finished, we had a good laugh over it, and it was nice to explain to him what it's like for me all of the time and how much I appreciate that he does help and support me. Props to you single parents, and the parents who aren't single, but have to do all the work anyway. You are saints, and I hope your LOs appreciate it as they grow.
Re: Husband's 'famous last words'

Love Carter's, and they usually have a lot of giraffe items.
I bought this for my niece when she was 6 months old, and it is still her favorite at 1 year: https://www.carters.com/carters/Pink-Giraffe-Snuggle-Buddy/V_L23497H,default,pd.html.
I bought it in the store at Target, and it is still there when I have in recently.
Oh, thanks for the link!!
