December 2010 Moms

All of my symptoms are gone :(

Over yesterday and today, my fatigue and sore boobs have disappeared. Now I'm wondering if this is really a bad sign or just psychosomatic. Sorry this seems more like a first tri question but I feel safer here :(

Do you think I should just call the doctor to see if I can get in? Or will it be too early to see anything on an u/s anyway (I think I'm more like 5w5d, not as far as my ticker says)

Re: All of my symptoms are gone :(

  • I definitely wouldn't take no symptoms as a sign of something wrong! But, if it makes you feel better, you could try to get an earlier appointment. Don't pysch yourself out, though -- hang in there!

  • I think your body just adjusts to the shifts in hormones.  I still have some symptoms, but they are not nearly as noticeable as they were at first.  I wouldn't worry, but there's no harm in calling your doctor if you need reassurance.  I don't think they will be able to see a heartbeat with regular u/s this early, maybe transvaginal?  (I could be wrong there, just going off what I remember from last time around.)  Hang in there!

  • try not to worry hon...symptoms come and go! Some don't have any at all and I think it might be a little psychosomatic too...ask on first tri though and get some other opinions maybe? OR Stay away from the internet all together =)

  • :( Have you had any bloodwork done?  I don't know if they'll be able to see much w an u/s right now but maybe a quant hcg and progesterone level will give you some reassurance.  I had that done right after my BFP last time and I think knowing my numbers were good helped me to get through until I was far enough along to see a hb(I think 7 wks). I think that was standard procedure w my doc since my periods were so irregular. I think given that you've had a loss in the past, they should do bloodwk to make sure everything is good. Hope that helps! Try not to worry yourself too much. :)

  • Oh Jilly, try not to worry!  :-(  I agree that those symptoms definitely come and go periodically.  My dr told me with C that the first day they can see a heartbeat is 5w6d though other drs may certainly disagree.  I agree that maybe they can get you in for some bloodwork to give you a bit of re-assurance.  Try not to worry okay?  Big hugs to you!

  • I remember freaking out about this same thing when I was pregnant with DS2. Try not to worry... this is totally normal and not a warning sign at all. If it'll make you feel better, just call and speak to the nurse to ease your mind.. I don't think they can do much if you go in.
  • I know they won't be able to tell me much.  And if I go in, I'll be losing out on my disability insurance, which kicks in as of March 1st (which is currently my first appointment) I just wish that I wasn't so neurotic!

Welcome to me, first trimester: crazy pants.

  • Sorry you're feeling so neurotic.  I was the same way when I was first pregnant with B.  I peed on so many sticks just to make sure I was still pregnant.  March 1st is only 9 days away, though - you can totally make it.

  • I agree - don't psych yourself out! I definitely have had days with no noticeable symptoms. When are you supposed to go see the doc? Might be worth a call, just to put your mind at ease. Good luck!!

Because of this I wouldn't go in.  I'm sorry you're so worried, it sucks.  But even if you went in there would be almost nothing they could do so it's just not worth it.

I'm sure everything is ok, but if you do want to go to the dr to be safe, I wouldn't assume this about your insurance. With  me, I have already gone in 2xs b/c of the spotting/hemmorhage, and had a blood test & 2 ultrasounds. But, I was told that my next appt this Friday is my "first official OB appt".

  • I wouldn't assume that anything is wrong. I had my initial symptoms that gave me the idea to test but then had them dissapear. A few weeks later, morning sickness hit with a vengeance and I've been fighting it ever since. I'd take another test for reassurance but wait to see the doctor until your appointment.

  • You guys are right. There would be nothing to do be done if I went in AND I'd lose the money. 9 days away doesn't seem so bad :)

Addendum: Seriously, what would I do without you guys?

Um, ditto to everyone!  And I think you'd go crazy without us all.  Stick out tongue  I hope you feel crappy again soon!!  Big Smile
  • My first u/s was at 5wks/5days and they saw the heart beat and baby through a transvaginal

  • I had an transvaginal u/s just before 6 weeks and I got to see a heartbeat and they measued the bean (right on target).  So seeing those things made me feel better but its true that theres nothing anyone can do if something bad really was happening.

If it makes you feel any better, I barely had any symptoms.  My bewbs finally started to hurt after the 9th week and now they stopped hurting lol.

I hope you start barfing up a storm soon =P
