I am in need of some suggestions/help finding a sitter. I have tried getting referrals, looked on craigslist, have joined care.com & sittercity.com, but have had no luck. Any suggestions????
We are looking for a loving, caring, & honest sitter to watch our 8 month old baby boy - preferably in the Blue Ash/Deer Park/Reading area. The hours needed could range from 4 hours one week to 3-4 full days the next, but we'd have the schedule for the month a week or so before the month starts. We are looking for a non-smoking household, no more than 2 other children being watched, no cats, fun & energetic, clean background & driving record, & currently CPR & First Aid certified.
Honestly, that sounds like it will be difficult to find. Basically what you want is a SAHM with CPR/FA certification not actually a day care provider. I would check with local churches and see if they have a list of child care providers. I would also ask friends, relatives, and co-workers if they know of anyone who would be interested in such a position.
I have a friend who does childcare in her home, but she is in Northside. I'm not sure of her flexibility, but if you are interested, I could pass on your info to her. Just let me know! My email is nursegabbard@gmail.com

Basically, it's a service where you pay $8 per sit to the service for arranging the babysitter and then pay the sitter separately (for our 2 kids it's $10, it's less for one).
We've had a great deal of luck with the sitters. All are college-age or all and all have background checks. We've never had a time where our sitter request wasn't filled. And the sitters have all been really good with our girls.

Good Luck!
I have an irregular daytime schedule, so I've been using Babysitease:
