We got the one that has a rabbit on it from a consignment store for $14.99! That clock would be worth every penny even if we had paid a lot more. We set it to wake at 7:30. Before, DS thought 6 am was a great time to wake up (I did not agree!). Now, even if he wakes before the clock, he plays in his bed. The first thing I hear through the monitor every morning is "Mommy, the bunny rabbit's up! Time to play!" it has definitely helped in our house.

I'm thinking about buying this for DS, I've talked to people who love it because it can be used as your child gets older too. If you are going to spend $40 on a clock, you might as well spend $50 and be able to use it to teach time and as a real alarm clock (if it lasts that long).
I had the bunny one but it broke (it was also a PITA to set). We replaced it with the Teach Me Time one, which has been working well for DD. We aren't using it to teach time yet, but I like that it has that ability.
i got an owl that she can sleep with and lights up green when it's time to get up (for about $25 on amazon). it took a couple weekends (because that's when i need her to sleep in- though we use it every day), but now she's used to it and won't get up before 7am. more detail here.

This is the one we have. We haven't used the teaching time part, but DS wasn't the biggest fan of it at first, but now he loves waking us up in the morning and telling us his clock is green, get up!

LOVE the OK to wake clock. Never in a million years did I think it would work but Im here to tell you it does.
This exactly! She was waking up at 4:45-5am until we got it and now she occassionally wakes up and wants out of bed before, but it is more like 6:30am not 5am. IT WORKS!
Re: Any recommendations on the "ok to wake" clocks?

It has helped greatly! Now my son stays in bed until 8:00 am every morning and then comes out to announce "My sun's on!"
