A friend is using a name I don't have the guts to use

She just told me the name today for the baby who is due any day now (she is 38 weeks pg.) It's Esmeralda. I can think of a billion reasons why it makes so much more sense for her to use it (for starters, she lives in Argentina and plans on raising her daughter there), but I still admire her for it and feel a little twinge of "man, why the heck don't I have the guts to use that name?"

I love Esmeralda. It's so gorgeous.

And I know what you mean about that "twinge." Sometimes I hear a name and think, "I wish I had enough guts to use that one!"

My husband and I are both crushing on Agatha right now but don't think we would have the guts to use it. I know that Agatha is nowhere near as pretty as Esmeralda to most people (and it definitely doesn't have that exotic feel), but we love it.

I was going to say Esme too.

We are most likely using the name Olive. Forever I didn't have the guts because the first person I mentioned it to laughed at me but now I don't care.
