when did you move LO to own room?

We're trying to figure out when to move DS to his own room. we've had his crib in our room to make it convenient for the overnight feeds. but now he's down to one feed so I'm wondering if it's time to make the transition. DH is gung-ho but I'm paranoid we won't hear him if he has a reflux spit-up/vomit/gag session even though we have a monitor. I also know that I need to get over it because he will need to go to his own room at some point.

Does he do that a lot? Otherwise with just one feeding, I don't see why you couldn't move him. But we moved J at three weeks, so I'm a little biased.

We moved DD to her own room at one month of age and then transitioned her from the RnP to her crib at two months. I didn't want to change too many things at the same time - I was also paranoid that I wouldn't hear her if there was something wrong but trust me, your 'mom ears' will hear the slightest noise on the monitor. We didn't have video monitor till she was four and half months old, just a sound monitor but I feel like i knew each and every one of her little noise. Seriously, this sounds completely ridiculous, but i could hear her poop so i wouldn't worry about not hearing your LO.

We moved him when he was too heavy for the bassinet in the PnP, so about 3months or so?

However, he also didn't have any of the issues you describe so if that was the case I can't decide if I would have done it differently or not.

We moved him to the crib in his room around 3 months. We moved him to a toddler bed around 18 months.

We moved them to their own rooms at 4 months. Before that, we were using two cosleepers in our bedroom sidecar'd to our bed.

We moved T around 4 or 6 weeks because the noises she'd make kept me up more than dragging myself to her room for a gazillion night feedings. I always heard her crying when her reflux got bad, but then she'd just start screaming in pain and not be actively spitting up or gagging. I think with a monitor turned up loudly, you'd hear the spitting and gagging pretty quickly. I've turned into a pretty light sleeper when it comes to DD - momma bear wanting to run down the hall and check on baby and all...

There really is a range for when people do this - we are definatly on the late side - as we just moved him at 18 months.

We made the move around 5-6 months, and it was great for everybody! I was paranoid also but really we all slept better that way.

6 weeks.

While she was always a good sleeper, I finally started sleeping well at that point. Big Smile

We moved her around 3 months. She slept in a swing in our room until then because of her reflux.

We never had DD sleep in our room. Starting the first night we brought her home, we put her in her crib - and she was a rock star! No issues

There was one time that she did vomit in her sleep, but she was fine. I've read somewhere babies know to turn their head or something. I can't remember the specifics about it. But they should be totally fine so long as you do the basics to prevent SIDS - no blanket/pillow/toys, sleep on back, etc. Also, I love having a video monitor - it helps so much! between seeing if there's really an issue to just wanting to "check in" by watching her (I do that when I return home from traveling all the time because I miss her) - it's a great investment for our family

we moved LO1 at 6 weeks. he was such a noisy sleeper that I could never sleep. we coslept and i'd wake every 10 minutes to him snoring, snorting, gurgling, or making some other boy noise.

we moved LO2 at 4 months - she was a much quieter sleeper! we coslept and she had outgrown her cosleeper. i did not want her on the mattress for various reasons, so we moved her to her crib in her room (shared with LO1).

We moved him around 3 months. I had to get myself used to the idea more than anything so I started by having him nap in his room to get used to the crib, then a couple weeks later I put him down there for the first part of the night, and when I woke up to nurse him I'd bring him back to the PnP in our room for the rest of the night (he'd wake up at least once or twice more). Eventually I stopped bringing him back to our room. We all did fine with all of it. GL!

2.5/3 months. She was a noisy sleeper, and I realized that she was getting sleep at night but I was not because her noises kept me up!
