Who has a FIL who thinks it is acceptable to pass gas in front of them? He does it all the time, and did it in the car on our way home from church today! I think it is rude. Also, he also thinks he should have control over our television. I was nursing in the bedroom this morning and overheard DH asking for the remote and his dad refusing to give it to him. Seriously, we pay the bills so if DH wants to watch ESPN, he can. I feel like my head is going to explode holding in everything I want to say, so I had to vent.

    I totally agree with you. I say that as I sit here watching hours of recorded NCAA basketball.  FIL just shows up, sits down on the couch and starts to watch.  He does always call first...but it's usually as he is turning on our road.  smh.

    No, but he does it constantly and laughs about it like he's 9 years old. I honestly think he just bothers me period. There's lots of underlying issues when it comes to FIL. He's on a constant power trip, talks to his wife like she's an idiot, treats my husband bad, and lots of other things, so even small, petty things like him farting drives me insane. I grew up with an older brother so farting doesn't bother me..the fartee (so not a word) does. I honestly just needed to vent because if I didn't, I'd scream.

    you can't fart in front of my 2 year old, she will totally call you out on it!  LOL.  my FIL thinks he owns the remote to every tv that he comes in contact with, i don't argue it anymore as long as it is appropriate for my kids to be in the room.

    Ugh, I may be a prude but I don't think it's ever acceptable to let one off in public, even amongst family.  If it's an accident, sure, otherwise hold it in or take it to the next room.  I can honestly say I've never heard my dad, brother, or husband fart unless it was in their sleep.

    That is gross.  I wouldn't be a fan of that behavior either.

    Really?  You never fart in front of your H or have heard him fart other than in his sleep?  TMI, but I get a lot of gas (especially while pregnant!) and I only move to the other room if I think it's going to be a smelly one.  We're pretty gross like that and also talk about the dumps we take sometimes.  Yep, we are gross.

    This is DH and I.  Now I don't do it in public, but DH family seems to think it appropriate wherever/whenever

    My dad is the worst about this.  He'll cropdust a silent but deadly fart and then pretent that nothing happened.  I was at my parents yesterday and I kept checking diapers because the smell was terrible.  Nope, just dad.

    We were out of town when E was a baby and my brother farted. I thought it was E so I made my dad pull over so I could change him because I was worried he was getting sick and it smelled HORRIBLE. My brother finally admitted it once I got him unstrapped so I made my brother buckle him back up. E threw up all over my brother. It was awesome!

     

    And Crystal, the butt sex farts are only immediately after. I will ask MH if he thinks it's rude.
