DD has a little rattle that she sleeps with and likes (she'll play with it when she wakes up) and i never worry about her suffocating because it's small. I think, however, she's teething and thought about getting her a teething blanket like this:
I also thought, since she's fascinated by the tags on all her toys, a taggie blanket might be fun for her - something like this:
DD is able to roll both ways, sleeps on her side and occasionally sleeps on her tummy. I just get concerned about the fact that it might be dangerous if it accidentally covers her face - am i worried over nothing? Thanks!
Re: When can the little girl sleep with one of these?
I probably wouldn't give her a blanket. I think the risks are very, very low of anything happening, but there's still a bit of a risk. However, if you like the taggie idea, they have lots of different products. We got DD#2 this little Taggie doll.

I'm a bit more comfortable with a doll than a blanket. However, DD#2 never really took to the doll so she doesn't even really use it.
My DD#1 took to the Soothe and Glow Seahorse around 9 months and it seems like DD#2 is leaning in the same direction (probably because it's what her older sister likes). I don't know what fabric the fins are made of but it's like crack for both of my girls. For some reason, it soothes them to rub it.

We have J a little Taggie blanket when he was 8 months old or so. We weren't swaddling anymore, he was rolling both directions and could move himself around pretty well. Plus, he kept waking himself up by whacking himself in the face. We gave him the Taggie, and it was enough to keep is hands occupied in his sleep that he stopped hitting himself and helped him self-soothe.
Do you have a video monitor? I was a little worried at first but being able to see him with it and see that he wasn't covering his face made me feel better.
