PJs Question

S/O sleep sacks and cold feet and such, what does your LO sleep in?  Particularly if you do not swaddle.  And what at temp do you keep your house?

We put DD in a long sleeved onesie, socks (on hands & feet, lol), and a sleeper, but that's it.  No blanket, no swaddle, no sleep sack.  Our house is 72 degrees.  She sleeps great and I figured if she was cold she wouldn't sleep that well, but now I'm thinking maybe this is not enough clothes....

Re: PJs Question

  • LO has a short sleeve onsie, socks on his feet and a microfleece sleeper.  We put a hand knit blanket on his lower half.  We're not too worried about him pulling it over his face because there are so many holes, he'd still be able to breath.  We keep the house at 72 degrees and his toes and fingers are always like icicles.  I asked the pedi about it and he said not to worry as long as he's sleeping well.

  • Our house is kind of chilly at 64 overnight.  We just adjusted our thermostat to keep the heat on longer at night and see if that helps since if we ratchet it up it gets too warm.  Old drafty house and one zone heat are not great.

DD wears fleece footie PJs and a fleece sleepsack but they aren't actually that thick or toasty, I think she might be cold so i'm going to add a onesie underneath and I've ordered a grobag to see if that is warmer for her.

She sleeps OK but feels chilly when I nurse her at night but I'm cautious of not wanting to overheat her.

  • DD wears a fleece footed PJ, and a fleece sleevless sleep sack. Sometimes if she wears a cotton PJ, I use the long sleeve Carters sleep sacks. But she'll outgrow that soon (they only come in one size: 0-9mos). We keep the house at 70/71 at night.

  • She sleeps in footie pjs.. I have put her in a sleep sack, and she gets too sweaty. Sometimes she gets too sweaty in her pjs if they are fleece and we keep the house somewhat chilly at night- probably 64-66... She runs hot.

IMO, at 72 degrees, what your lo is wearing should be plenty!

  • LO sleeps in a short sleeve onsie, with socks on her feet only. She sleeps in a polyester footed pj

Some nights I wrap her bottom half with a swaddle blanket. But only if it's cold or she is banging her leg/feet on the mattress.

    I think it's 70 in the house.

  • Footed sleep and play and fleece swaddle. If she gets her arms out her hands are cold but her core stays warm. We keep the house at 64 overnight.

  • She's just in cotton long sleeve footed pajamas.  Sleep and plays are what they are officially called I guess.  Its generally around 72 in our house at night too...we don't use heat or ac so it varies though.  She generally STTN so I think she's comfy.  If your DD was too cold I don't think she would be sleeping well.  I'm sure she's fine!

  • Jacob sleeps in a long-sleeved onesie with a fleece sleep sack with arms. I don't use a blanket with him at night because he moves all around the crib! Our house is kept at 70 degrees.

  • Our LO sleeps in a onesie, socks and Baby Merlin's sleep suit. Our house is at 65 overnight but her room is generally a few degrees warmer.
