rec a bath seat

my daughter has outgrown her tub so i want to start giving her baths in the big tub,  she will most likely be taking baths at the same time as my son so i thought it would be easier if she had a seat to sit in.  please let me know any seat that you have found good.  i have a textured tub so i feel like if will be hard for suction cups to stick.  thanks.

Re: rec a bath seat

  • She won't want the seat if your son isn't in one.  Just skip it.  Once DS2 could sit I put them both in the tub together.  It has been fine.

  • I had the same problem.  I found a nice (kind of bulky) seat. It worked well, but it would hold water inside the seams.  I got rid of it because it grossed me out thinking kids might be taking a bath with mold from the water not draining out.  I just put her in without a seat.  I looked at other seats, but the seats that I thought would work in my tub all had seams that could hold water.
  • Look on Amazon.  We got a great one for literally $22, and it has been the best baby item I have ever gotten.  C has been in the chair since six months old, and she is still using it today.  She has a great time being able to kick her arms and legs freely.  It has toys on the bar, plus she freely plays with all of her other toys.  She doesn't mind being in it at all.  It doesn't have seems, so I don't have a mold issue.  I just make sure I leave it in a well ventilated place overnight to dry thoroughly.

do you know the name of it?

  • We skipped straight to sitting in the big tub on a rubbery mat thing. DS has some serious chunk to his thighs, so he didn't really fit right in any bath seat. I was terrified to leave him "free range" in the tub but it worked out just fine.

If you are set on getting a chair, though, Buy Buy Baby has an awesome selection, if you have one near you.
