My baby girl arrived yesterday at 2:30pm. I was only 36 weeks pregnant and not expecting to go into labor. My water broke around midnight and we arrived at the hospital at 2:30am. I was having very mild contractions and had progressed to 1 centimeter. The dr. suggested pitocin to get things moving (the lowest dosage) so I agreed and from there things moved pretty fast. I labored with strong contractions for about 3 and a half hours. My husband tried so hard to be a supportive coach but I just needed him to be quiet so I could focus and get through them. Strangely enough the only place I wanted to be when I had a contraction was the rocking chair. I then asked for an epidural (was always planning to get one) when I was around 5 centimeters dilated. Soon after the epidural I was dilated to 7, then just an hour and a half later I was fully dilated, pushed for 15 minutes and then Juliet was born. She weighed 6 lbs. 2 oz, 19.5 inches and 100% healthy.
My labor was an incredible experience. Contractions were painful but I tried to relax as much as possible and breathe through them. The epidural was beautiful relief, yet I still felt enough pressure during pushing, which helped .
Juliet, her daddy and I have spent the past couple days in the hospital snuggling and introducing her to family and friends. We are so happy and in love with her.
My advice to all the March moms is to pack your bags now! I had started packing a bag by throwing a bunch of items in a pile on the floor. But I hadn't washed any of her blankets or going home outfit, etc. We scrambled around packing our bags while I was dripping with amniotic fluids! Anyway, I just wish I had been more prepared.
Juliet is beautiful, sweet, tiny...lovely. My husband is so adorable with her and I just stare at her in disbelief that she is already here and is ours.
Enjoy being pregnant for these last weeks ladies! I'm so glad Juliet is here but I also kind of miss being pregnant!

Congrats!! She is so sweet!
I also missed being pregnant after two other gals who were due this month had their babies AFTER our son was born, and both gave birth exactly on their due dates. It really made me sad that my body wouldn't cooperate.
I'm just so glad our boy is getting stronger each day.
