I'm delivering at Holston Valley too.  My doctor is Dr. J at Seasons.  I've been so happy with him, and I hear wonderful things about HVMC.  Are you doing the birthing classes there?

    Hi!

Have either of you considered using a Doula for your labor and delivery?  Not in place of a doctor, but in addition.  I'm a labor doula and having a doula with you during your labor and delivery is one of the best things you can do for yourself, your baby, your husband or partner, and the nursing staff! Doulas are knowledgeable and experienced in childbirth and can give you support and information to help you make decisions. We can tend to your needs and give your husband or partner (if you have one) ideas of how he can help you as well.If you do not have a partner to accompany you to the hospital, a doula can take on thatrole as well.

Giving birth is one of the most difficult but wonderful things you will ever do in your lifetime. Why wouldn't you want a lot of support emotionally & physically? While your partner is rubbing your back, a doula can be rubbing your feet. A doula can offer suggestions to help you get more comfortable or to help your labor progress without the need for medications or a C-section.

Check out my blog - www.callmydoula.blogspot.com - for a list of benefits of using a doula. Most women you talk to will tell you it was one of the best decisions they made. The most important thing is to find a doula that is available for you and fits well with your personality.

If you want to find a doula in your area, email me at callmydoula@gmail.com  and I can help you find the perfect one!

    Good luck ladies!!
