Need a weight training program... n2ifr

I need to add weight training to cardio... I need something easy, do at home, you know?  I don't want to make excuses out of doing it - like, I have to wash my hair, I need to change my clothes, they're not open now, etc, etc, etc... something I can just DO.  I've seen a few things online... but can anyone suggest/recommend a program?  I'm a beginner for sure... but I want that muscle tone!

  • Have you tried 30 day shred?  I know Jillian is annoying but I don't think her videos work, I think she has some others that are more weight training based but 30 day shred gives you cardio and weights all at once.

  • I am a HUGE fan of Lindsay Brin at Moms Into Fitness https://www.momsintofitness.com/

I did her postnatal bootcamp to lose all my baby weight and then bought all her other DVDs because I loved her so much. Every single one of them is fantastic and they incorporate weights too. She is all about building lean muscle.

I even participated in one of her fitness competitions so I can proudly say I'm one of her "success stories". https://www.momsintofitness.com/shed5fastcontest

She and I have become friends through that and she's absolutely amazing!

  • Lindsay Bryn sounds better than Jillian, I will need to check that out!  Are the dvd's easy to follow and not irritating?

YES! She is like working out with your best friend (who is motivating, not yelling). And the best part is she's had 3 kids so she talks about all the 'mommy' muscles you need to use after your body's been through pregnancy & childbirth. Like kegels and the muffin top/abs. I mean really I could go on all day about how awesome she is, she's my idol Wink

  • Ugh Jillian Michaels... I hate that b*tch.

I have tried working out at home a gazillion times.  I'm too lazy.  When I'm home, I'm home.  I play and clean and cook and do all that crap, not workout.  If I'm paying for it, I'll use it, so I go to the gym!

Good luck =)  PS- I think you'd really like mat pilates.  Definitely builds a sweat with strength training.

  • I do like a lot of Jillian's workouts (especially no more trouble zones, that one is TOUGH!).  I also just boought the New rules of lifting for women and it has easy to follow routines, you may want to try something like that?
