I need help deciding what to do about my angelcare monitor. We have the basic 1-pad, 2 receiver set that costs about $99. I get false alarms almost nightly and have done everything they recommend to fix it. I contacted angelcare yesterday and explained my situation. I believe it's going off because DD rolls to the side of her crib (not the head or foot, the SIDE. like a few inches from the middle). A lot of you said you don't have that problem so it leads me to believe it's faulty. Their manual even says that should not happen.
After answering a series of questions about everything from where I bought the system to what kind of mattress I have, the customer service rep suggests I buy a double pad sensor for another $25. She says it increases the sensitivity level by 15%.
My other option is to sell it on ebay or at a consignment shop and go buy a snuza. I guess I am just hesitant to buy another one of their products since I haven't been satisfied with the one I have.
Does anyone use the double sensor pad? I never even knew there was such a thing..

Do you have the piece of mortarboard or whatever it is called that they recommend? We used exactly what they said, and have not had any false alarms. I heard that the board really does make a difference, so that is just a thought. My baby also rolls to the side of the crib. Good luck.
Our manual recommended masonite or plywood - we got a plywood one cut to the specific dimensions. Maybe the masonite would help. There is one sold specifically for angelcare systems on amazon but it has like 2 stars in the reviews. :-
I have a video monitor too so I can usually tell right away that she has rolled off. It beeped the other night (warning beep) while she was in the middle of the crib. I was shaking by the time I got to her. She was fine, of course. :-/
