Anyone else hate NickJr?

Ugh...thanks to my neighbor, my son is now interested in watching this God-awful Umizoomi show.  I am ready to tear my hair out!  I feel like all of the shows on NickJr. are so crazy-bright and overstimulating, and I usually don't turn that channel on. I wish he'd never seen this stupid Umi-crap!!   We normally watch Sprout, which just seems so much calmer. Stick out tongue

    huh, funny.  I don't really like Sprout - I never feel like I know what's going on there, the show I expect to see if never on, its always that chicken (or chick?) or its some weird 18 minute show and then weird PBS ads for 12 minutes. 

    I like Nick Jr. we watch Dora or Fresh Beat Band almost every night - occassionally Wonder Pets, Blues Clues, sometimes Ni-Hao.

    Other then the occasional On Demand episode of Dora, my DD is a Disney Junior girl. Mickey Mouse, Handy Manny, Jake and the Neverland Pirates are all her favorites. She is really getting into Little Einstines also.

    I love Olivia! Oh, and so does DD. :) Other than that she only watches Franklin or Peppa Pig on Nick Jr. on occasion. I can't stand Umizoomi or Wow Wow Wubzy.

    Nope, I've always been a huge Nick Jr. fan. I don't love all of their shows, but I especially like the Moose H. Moose cartoons in between.

    Funny -- I like UmiZoomi because it is one of the few math-focused shows.  Yo Gabba Gabba though makes me feel like I'm about to have a seizure.  I prefer some of the calmer shows on Sprout but if it wasn't for their god-awful in-between programming and endless insurance commercials, I probably wouldn't have discovered some of the Nick Jr or Disney Jr shows.  Or tivo the ones from PBS directly.

    There's a lot on NickJr. that I can't bare to watch, but team umizoomi is awesome! Beginner math concepts is such a wonderful idea!

    I actually like Nick Jr for DS.  I'm on brain overload however in general with kids shows :-(

    I love Team Umizoomi, but I'm kind of a math nerd.

    But seriously, it is one of the only shows I've seen that focuses on math, so it's something a little different, and DS loves it. We watch mostly Nick Jr.

    Its a good thing we have what I call Amish TV.  The only channels we get for kids are PBS, Qubo and Smile of a Child.

    But I will have to say that my DD LOVES my mothers house cause she can wstch Cailou whenever she wants(OnDemand).

    LOL. We cancelled cable a few months ago, but I went to Amazon on demand and bought a season of Umizoomi.

    I do like watching the shows on Netflix or Amazon though. Because that way the show just ends and that's that. No more rolling from one show to another without a break.

    I actually like UmiZoomi for the same reason others mentioned, it's one of the only really math based shows on NickJr.  Dora might be the other but even then it's not really math (just numbers).

    Gosh I really HATE (with a passion) Yo Gabba Gabba.  I truly do not understand it.  I am not a fan of Wow Wow Wubzy but my daughter LOVES it, it's an AM show we watch with her, it would be waaaay too much for evening TV.

    I think the shows she watches are Dora, Ni-Hao Kai-Lan, The Backyardigans (occasionally) and Wow Wow Wubzy on NickJr. The only other shows she watches are Curious George (her favorite) and Batman: The Brave and The Bold (it's not really a children's show but I think she likes it because it's part of her daddy/daughter bonding time with my husband).

    We watch about an hour of TV a day on the week days.  I am trying to cut her back to 30 minutes but in the mornings the way it is can be hard.
