Failed my 1hr GTT :(

I am so bummed... I really don't want to take the 3hr. I didn't fail by a lot, cut off is 135 and I was 144, but it's definitely still over the limit. I know lot of people who failed the 1 hr and passed the 3hr so I'm pretty optimistic but you never know. I think I'm more bummed because when I was pg with O I passed with flying colors and I really haven't done anything different this pregnancy.

Plus, now I have to take extra time off next week to take the test on top of already having time off for my monthly appt. I was planning on some extra hours next week and now I'm not going to get them- grrr.

I know there were a couple of mamas on the board who had to take the 3hr, any advice or any other wisdom you'd like to throw at me?

    Bring a book. It actually wasn't that bad when I had to take it.  But definately bring something to keep you occupied and bring a snack for afterwards.  Good luck!!

    I failed the 1 hour and passed the 3 hour in 1st pregnancy.  Definitely bring a good book to keep you occupied.  All I wanted was water and snacks afterwards so bad!

    I failed them both (yay GD! Stick out tongue) and it's really not too bad. The worst is just being stuck in the doctors office because they don't let you leave and come back. I did have a sugar crash part way in and had a terrible time staying awake in the office, lol. But I just brought my laptop and hunkered down in a corner of fthe waiting room. Make sure you get a good meal right after!

    oh, that sucks! No experience with the 3 hr, but good luck & hope the time goes by quickly & most important - that you PASS!

    I passed the 1hr and ended up taking the 3hr the last week of my pregnancy  because the doctor thought DS was kinda big.   I don't do too well with blood draws, so that was the worst part for me.  I was at a Labcorp, and my giant belly was quite the topic of conversation for all of the other patients coming and going, so that helped to pass the time as every stranger wanted to know when I was due!    Definitely bring a good book or magazine....it really wasn't that bad.

    Good luck with the 3hr!  I missed the cutoff last pg by 5 points so I had to do the 3hr.  I brought my laptop and watched a nice long movie I hadn't seen before, the time flew by between blood draws but I wish I had known to bring a snack for afterwards.....I was starving!

    I failed the one hour by TWO points. :P  But I passed the 3 hour.

    It was seriously miserable for me.  The person taking my blood left me so bruised.  I don't know if I could have asked for a different person, but I was not happy with them.

    I felt sick and yucky the entire time, it was like being car sick, but luckily I didn't throw up.  I think I bumped from my phone and complained the whole time. lol I brought a book and a movie on my phone, but felt too gross to pay attention to either.   

    I used to be a big deal.  Now I'm just old.

    Sorry you have to take the 3hr!

    I think I had a 2hr and then a 3hr... it was something weird like that.  But I think I passed both times.

    Good luck! I failed the 1 hour by one point. I threw up during the 3 hour, so they just treated me like I had GD. :( My OB's office lets the patients leave during the test as long as you come back in time to get your blood draws. I would have gone shopping if I had lasted through the test. Also, I don't think you can have water as someone else mentioned. They wouldn't let me have sip of water or gum or anything. Hope you pass!!
