I can't remember when you transition away from Robeez to more traditional shoes. I think with DD she started walking at 14 months and by 17 months she was in regular Stride Rite shoes. DS started walking at 10 months and is now 13 months. I will need to get him new shoes probably in the next month since his 12-18 month Robeez just fit. Do I just buy him one size up in the Robeez or move him to Stride Rite style early walkers?
Re: Remind me about shoes
If these will be his shoes for walking outside, I'd probably move to the Stride Rite Early Walkers, since it will (hopefully) be getting warmer outside and he'll spend more time out there.
My LOs started walking right before 15 months. Right now, they each own two pairs of shoes: Robeez and Stride Rite Early Walkers. We've had the Robeez for about 5 months, and they wear them everyday to daycare b/c I know it's better for them then regular shoes (and they just seem more comfy than regular shoes). When we go to places where they'll be walking around, they wear their regular shoes. In a few weeks, we'll get them new shoes for spring/summer, and we're just going to get them regular Stride Rite Early Walkers and do away with the Robeez.
Ditto most of the others about waiting until T was walking outside to get Stride Rite-ish shoes.
Now what I really need is for someone to "remind me about shoes" every 3 or 4 months because we forget T outgrows them so quickly and all of a sudden someone has to say "well maybe she fights putting her shoes on because they don't fit." If only I could think of that BEFORE it's a problem :P
Oh, I totally have this problem, too. I always feel so guilty when we do get her fitted for new shoes, and her current shoes are way too small on her. The problem is that DD doesn't fight putting them on, so I have no idea that they don't fit!
My solution, I have shoes in the next three sizes already. I just keep on buying the next size up on sale so when the day that DD complains comes around, we just switch up.
Ohhhh, that's smart. And makes me think DD has been wearing the same shoes for quite awhile. I see a trip to SR in our near future.
